Statement of Faith
Cindy’s an authentic sojourner who writes and speaks about her own, sometimes messy, journey. She’s grateful for Jesus, (He’s already made the trip.) the Holy Spirit, (He’s an amazing encourager.) Scripture (Best. Map. Ever.) and a God who’s waiting. (He even left the light on.) If you’re interested in having Cindy speak, perhaps her statement of faith will help you determine if she’s a good fit for your event. She believes:
1
There is one true God. He is three-in-one, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 4:35, Genesis 1:26, 2 Corinthians 1:3, Philippians 2:6, John 1:1, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18)
2
God is the Alpha and Omega. He is all knowing, all powerful and all present. He is love.
(Isaiah 44:6, Psalm 147:5, Isaiah 43:13, Proverbs 15:3, 1 John 4:16)
3
Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth and the life”, “salvation is found in no one else.”
(John 14:6, Acts 4:12)
4
The Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers. He is given as a seal and a pledge of our inheritance in Christ Jesus. He is our friend, teacher and the one who helps us remember.
(2 Corinthians 1:22, John 14:26)
5
The entire Bible is God’s infallible revelation to man. It is holy (set apart) and alive. It is prophetic as well as a potent and pertinent part of daily life in Christ.
(2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12)
6
Heaven and hell are real places. Hell is a place of suffering and separation from God. The only way to avoid it is to receive the salvation that Christ alone provides. It is God’s desire that no one be separated from Him, which is why He sent His son Jesus Christ.
(Hebrews 9:27, John 3:16-18, 2 Peter 3:9)
7
Salvation is obtained by grace alone. It is not by works but through faith in Jesus Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
8
There is a universal church, the body of Christ, which consists of all believers.
(Galatians 3:28)
9
Leading others to faith in Christ is a command. It is also a privilege.
(Mark 16:15)
10
Prayer, worship and the continued spread of the good news bring joy and meaning to this life as we wait for the very real return of Christ.
(Hebrews 9:28)
